In the really old days you coded straight to the API, but then Borland came up with the great tool called OWL. That’s the way we did it back in the ice age. So, this tutorial will explain how to build your own C application from scatch. Unfortunately, this also means that CMakes hides how to do that on your own project. A lot of efforts have been made so that these tutorials are as simple to compile & run as possible. Right now I have working code that creates and draws a layered window and I can blit stuff using GDI to draw anything I want on it, drag it around, even make it transparent, etc. I see plenty of tutorials and articles showing me how to make a simple windows program, which is great but none of them show me how to make multiple windows.
